What started as a one-storey building with 18 nursery and kinder students in 1994, the school traces back its roots to early 1992 with its founders, Spouses Ricardo and Erlinda Cruz’s desire to further serve the community by offering affordable private education to those who seek it. It is without coincidence that the school is named after St. Ives of Kermatin (AD 1303), the patron saint of lawyers, in reference to Ricardo’s profession as an Attorney-at-law.
As a result of public demand and Government approval to operate, the school was able to offer complete Primary, as well as Secondary school programs in 2000 and 2005, respectively. A major milestone came in 2009 when the school became an Educational Service Contracting (ESC) partner of the Department of Education, whereby financial assistance is provided to incoming Grade 7 of both public and private elementary schools. This was in parallel to the school’s participation in the Taguig Learner’s Certificate (TLC) program, where the Taguig local government grants full scholarship to its residents.
Another curriculum shift was made in June 2016, which saw the School offer strands under the Academic Track (ABM, GAS, HUMMS), in accordance with RA 10533, thereby implementing the K – 12 Program.
Today, St Ives School is a community of over 800 learners and 50 teachers and staff. We are now located in two campuses to support a more comprehensive range of quality educational programs and address the needs of our individual learners.
